WORKING TOGETHER

The Health & Safety Department was established in 2013. It's main purpose is to assess risk and create the safest working environments possible for the Quest community. The Health and Safety Department has made great strides to improve our processes, risk assessments and safety focused protocols.

In the coming year, we will continue to work together with each department to analyze potential risks, and maximize safety for our staff and the people we support. We will also be working on the creation/implementation of health and safety training videos as a new source of training and awareness for our community.

If you have questions, concerns, or would like to alert the Health & Safety Department to any potential risk, please contact Shelby Collier.

PREVENTING WORKPLACE INJURIES

The most common workplace injury in our field is musculoskeletal injuries to the back, shoulders, and/or neck. Quest is committed to preventing injuries to staff in this area by providing Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention (Lifting, Transferring, and Wheelchair Safety) training. We also provide staff with safe lifting techniques that they can apply to everyday situtaions.

Below is a video of that gives tips on lifting items and how to approach some every day scenerios.

MONTHLY STRETCH: ELBOW CIRCLES

2. Place your hands on your shoulders with your elbows at shoulder level and pointing out.

3. Slowly make a circle with your elbows (30 seconds).
