SUPPORTS
In 2000 Quest opened up its first residential location on the Northside of Lethbridge. Currently Quest assists people in 34 homes located throughout Lethbridge. Each home is unique and requires different levels of support. In a residential setting individuals and their roommate(s) often rent or own a home of their own. Quest provides full-time support staff to assist people with living safely in their community.

The Access Program offers a variety of in-house life skills classes which include: Quest for fitness, cooking class,, music club, photography club, beauty class, arts club, and a collective self-advocacy group named Voices. The program also offers skills training in the areas of: healthy lifestyles, abuse prevention and computer training. Our trained on-call Supervisors are available everyday after hours to assist people and their staff when emergencies arise. These two supervisors are trained on the varying complexities within the organization and have access to an afterhours data base which provides them with person-specific information to assist them in making good judgement calls. While the majority of their time is dedicated to staffing and medication requests, they are also available to help anyone who is struggling, anyone who needs a mental break, or sometimes just to talk through a situation.

CONNECT WITH A FUNDER
Quest is funded by various government bodies, most often Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Once a funder indicates that you have been approved to receive community support, it is recommended that you contact multiple agencies and book an "intake". It is nice to consider different organizations as each one has different services to offer you.

What makes Quest a unique service provider? Flexibility.

One of the strongest aspects of Quest Support Services Inc. is our flexibility and willingness to design a program based on Individual needs. While we support 130+ people of varying abilities, not one support program is a mirror of another. Each person's program is develeoped with a person-centered planning approach. Regardless of which program you are interested in joining, it will be built with your wishes and goals in mind. And don't forget - you can change your plan at anytime!
Michele Currie is the Support Home Specialist who helps facilitate the care of 24 unique residences across Lethbridge. This type of setting allows a person or family the amazing experience of inviting a person with a disability to become a member of their household. It can be an amazing experience for people of all ages and abilities and so many of the settings we support are long-term well connected families.
Quest is proud of the work we have done to help people find meaningful employment within the community. We have maintained a contract with the University of Lethbridge for nearly 15 years, a small employment program which allows 20 individuals to earn money each day. As well, we support a number of people who are either part-time or full-time employed, and work with them and their employer to maintain a positive relationship. Currently Quest offers employment classes on Mondays by appointment, where a person can develop an employment portfolio and connect with employers.
Whether a person requires basic supports or a complex program, Quest works as a team to identify solutions to behaviors of concern. Our goal is always to maintain safety for all people involved.

Quest offers a variety of respite options which vary from hourly breaks to weeks or weekends away from caregivers. In these settings, both adults and children with are given an opportunity to have some 1 on 1 support and are encouraged to connect with their community. It is often seen as a healthy break for both caregivers and the people receiving supports.
Our Outreach Team developed in the early 2000's when we realized we needed something different. Currently our Outreach Prorgam offers daytime/evening/weekend hours to 45 adults and children wanting support. Supports are flexible and include things such as: assistance with grocery shopping, budgeting, household maintenence, employment, socialization, and appointments.
Quest believes that the only way to stop abuse is to teach people to identify it first. We offer training to employees as well as people receiving supports in an effort to prevent abuse from occuring. Our classes include open dialogue where people can openly discuss preventative tactics and share experiences with each other. All staff are required to refresh this training once per year, and we strongly encourage the people we support to do the same.

Flexible Supports:
Respite care provides individuals and caregivers a break from each other and an opportunity to find balance.
Our Outreach Program offers flexible supports to people with busy lives.
Abuse Prevention and Response training is an important tool for both employees and people receiving support.
CHOICES:

The QUEST KIDS CAMP is designed to for children 14-18 years old who are looking to take steps towards volunteerism, employment, and independence.
We kicked off our first Kids Summer Camp back in 2000. It has been an amazing experience and each year we get to see some new & old faces for an 8 week summer camp. Children who attend this program are offered a variety of activities to keep them entertained and moving forward all summer long. Staff are trained on each individual child, and a person-centered program is developed to help the child meet milestones over the summer holiday. Hours are flexible between 8-5pm Monday through Friday. Contact us for more information!
